Realtín’s Haircut Fundraiser

Realtín’s Big Cut

Realtín, a 10-year-old Galway girl, has chosen to support Galway Simon Community in a special way – by cutting her hair.

Wanting to make a difference, she and her family organised a fundraiser at Burke’s of Colemanstown, asking the local community to join the “Big Cut” and donate to help those experiencing homelessness in the West.

Rapunzel Foundation

This is the second time she has donated 14 inches of her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation, an organisation that provides wigs for children experiencing hair loss.

The first time she donated her hair she was just 7 years old. After hearing about the Rapunzel Foundation, Realtín understood how something as simple as hair can bring comfort and confidence to those who need it most.

A Community Of Support

This act of kindness was made possible by the incredible support of the local community.

A huge thank you to Frank and Bernie Burke, Sandra Flannery, Dervla Higgins, Niamh Kilkenny, and everyone who came together to show their generosity and encouragement.

Their support helped turn this event into something truly special.
