To our supporters,
Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Karen Golden and I’m delighted to have joined Galway Simon Community as the new CEO, having previously volunteered on the Board of Directors for some years until 2011. In my short time in this new role, the outstanding dedication and commitment shown by our staff and volunteers in helping people to leave homelessness behind for good has made a deep impression on me. As you are probably aware, the homelessness and housing crisis is showing no signs of slowing down and this was very much reflected in the demand for our services throughout 2017.
Collectively, we supported 537 individuals and families across our prevention, housing and support services last year. Thanks to the continued generosity and support of the wider community, we were able to expand the reach of our homelessness prevention services that actively work with people in the community who are at risk of losing their homes.
We plan to further expand these vital services this year to help prevent more families, couples and single people from falling into the cycle of homelessness. Without your support, this simply would not be possible.
Mile buíochas as ucht do thacaíocht,
Karen
