Local Galway group, The A Capella Knights will hold their Christmas concert ‘The Knights Before Christmas’ in The Galway Cathedral on Sunday 11th of December in aid of Galway Simon Community. The Christmas special will include a children’s concert at 3pm, with the main event taking place at 7:45pm.

The children’s concert will feature Irish dancers from the Hession School of Dancing as well as choirs from The Claddagh National School and Coláiste Éinde. The main event will see The A Capella Knights joined by special guests The Bluebirds, The Galway Bell Choir, The Hession School of Dancing and the Simon Music Project. Both concerts will celebrate Christmas through a wide variety of festive music, both traditional and contemporary. The music will be a colourful mix of a cappella vocals, instrumentalists, soloists, and choral music.

“We’re delighted, once again, to be able to share our music in the company of such great local talent while raising vital funds to tackle homelessness here in Galway” says Francis Casey of The A Capella Knights. “Last year’s concert was a massive success and we raised over €5,500 for Galway Simon which was a huge achievement for the group.”
Francis highlighted that the homeless crisis has grown again in the last 12 months. “Knowing how the situation has deteriorated, we decided to do more than one concert this year. We are going to have a daytime concert for children and their parents and an evening concert which will be the main event. We have a very entertaining programme and can’t wait to kick off Christmas with some of Galway’s most talented artists”, said Francis.

Tickets for both concerts cost €15 and can be bought from www.galwaysimon.ie. The children’s concert is free to anyone under the age of 12 when accompanied by an adult. All proceeds from the concert will be going to Galway Simon Community who provide support and accommodation services to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Galway.
